Holiday time

Well the van has come out of storage now so that I can start packing and get ready to get away. We are going for a trip to North Qld, we have not been there yet so looking forward to  the trip. Hopefully we will have some warmer weather, the mornings have been a bit on the chilly side here although not as cold as it can be.

This is a braid quilt I made from a jelly roll, it is very long as I could not decide which fabrics to leave out from the jelly roll.

This was the view from the front of the house one morning when we had a frost.

A finished top plus more

I finally got Tropical Sashiko Sampler together. The pattern is a Sylvia Pippen pattern, just have to get to quilting it now.

Another little project completed is this Dilly Bag made from some dyed fabric from a dyeing fun day.

Attended a workshop recently for this Fast and Fabulous quilt technique. The workshop was conducted by Penny Vanderwal. A great way to put a top together quickly.

Fresh Start

Welcome to a New Year. I am hoping to share some of my things more often this year.
This is Baileys first quilt, he is now 8 years old, better late then not at all. I gave it to him at Christmas and he was really thrilled with it and enjoyed playing "I SPY " with all the different characters and animals  he could find in the blocks.
Last year I attended a workshop for this paper pieced New York Beauty. I was determined to make all the 36 blocks before Christmas which I did. It will now rest a while before I sew the blocks together  and then quilt it.

Mothers day quilt

Last year one of my sons sent me a pack of layer cake fabrics, I was very pleased with his choice and have made this quilt with the fabrics. I also machine quilted it. The pattern is in the Layer cake and jelly roll book.

This is another quilt for one of the grandchildren. At last I have been able to use some of my collected childrens fabrics.

Childrens quilt

Over the last few years I have been collecting some childrens novelty fabric. I thought it was about time I put them into a quilt before the children grow up, so over the last week or so have sorted and started to make some I spy blocks.

I have probably got enough fabric to make half a dozen quilts! I am enjoying being on long service leave, have certainly found plenty of things to do and catch up on.

We spent Easter Sunday at a local dam, the weather was perfect and the kids had a great time.
